ASTM A182 F53 Comparison with similar duplex stainless steels

  • F51 (UNS S31803, standard duplex steel 2205): F53 is the most commonly used duplex stainless steel, with lower corrosion resistance and strength than F53, making it more suitable for applications with moderate requirements but strict cost control.
  • F55 (UNS S32760, Zeron 100): F55 adds copper and tungsten on the basis of F53, with corrosion resistance (PREN>40) and strength comparable or slightly higher than F53, especially better resistance to sulfuric acid corrosion, and higher cost.
